Welcome to Unforgettable QX-FM
97.9, 101.9, 104.7 & 105.3 FM

Our signals cover Kilgore, Longview, Tyler and the Lake Cherokee areas.  That includes most of Rusk and Gregg counties along with the northern populated areas of Smith County.  We play the widest variety of musical memories ever broadcast.  While many people listen to us for our musical diversity, quite a few report that they listen simply because we are local. There are not a lot of truly local stations left. We think that is important. After all, we live here ourselves. Our sponsors are not large multi-national corporations. They are local small businesses who are vital parts of our community.

This is your opportunity to reach over 200,000 potential buyers for your products and services with daily announcements at a surprisingly low cost.

How is this possible?

Two Reasons:

#1. This is local radio targeting our listening area. Our audience lives, works and plays in the Lake Cherokee, Kilgore , Longview and Tyler area. For many local businesses, paying for coverage in Dallas or Shreveport is pointless; since it is unlikely people from those cities will be bothered to make the journey out of their own home towns.

#2. We are a non-profit radio station. We are not trying to get rich, or satisfy a group of shareholders with profits and dividends. We have modest needs to support the station. Our goal is to slowly grow to better serve the needs of our local community.

Staying Power

According to experts who study such things, the music you grew up with remains closest to your heart. One of our listeners recently described listening to QX-FM as “Like listening to a radio version of the Ed Sullivan Show.” We like that. For people who grew up in the 1940’s, 50’s or 60’s, we strike a chord, bringing them a musically nostalgic look at well remembered times.

We do this through a huge library of musical favorites. Unlike many stations with play lists of only 100-200 songs, our play list consists of 1200 – 1500 songs per week. What’s more, we rotate new music every week from our huge music library consisting of over 8500 songs. You won’t find that kind of variety on most stations. This makes our audience fiercely loyal.  They tune in and stay tuned.

So, who’s listening?

According to Radio & Records surveys, stations with this format are most popular with “Graying Affluents and Affluent Empty Nester’s.” But it’s not just people of retirement age who listen. There are a surprising amount of “MTV Generation” folks who are musically curious. They tune in as well. It’s not just your Grandfather’s radio station (although he’s probably listening too).

In the Fall of 2005, Arbitron decided to include the results for Low Power FM stations in their "Fall Book" which was released in February 2005. We did surprisingly well in Gregg County (the only county they rate that we are receivable in).  We actually beat quite a few full power stations.  Not bad for a radio station with less than 1/1000 the power of some other stations in the area. since then, our Arbitron ratings have continued to improve.  We beat many full power stations. Ask an account representative for more specific (and current information).
