Christmas at the December 9th Knife, Fork and Trowel was a huge success.  We had 65 people brave the cold weather that night.  That broke last year's attendance record.

 Hosts and hostesses were Jackie and Bill Bolin, Sue Coleman, Debbie Hobson, Jo Ann and Billy McCranie and Nell Raper.  They provided a wonderful home-style dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and rolls.  As always, the salads and desserts that everyone brought were delicious.  Thanks to the Fishing Club for leaving all the Christmas decorations up for us. 

Bette Slade and John T. Smith.  Is this John T.'s life after Board President?  Shoe Sales?

The White Elephant/Dirty Santa gift exchange was a lot of fun, as it always is.  It's so funny to see what people can come up with for White Elephant gifts.  The highlight of the night was Bette Slade trying to steal John T. Smith's "gift" of high heeled tennis shoes.  John T. was even gracious enough to put them on Bette's feet.

A big Thank You to everyone that brought the toys and canned goods that were donated to the Presbyterian Children's Home.  With the economy the way it is, it was truly heartwarming to again see the generosity that exists here at Lake Cherokee. 

Next month's Knife, Fork and Trowel will be on Tuesday, January 13th.  Hosting will be D. and Sam Noble, and Charlie and Linda Whalen.

The time is 6:00 p.m. and the place is the downstairs at the Cherokee Water Company office.  Come join us!  Where else can you have a delicious meal for $2 a person, have a good time, and enjoy the company of your fellow Lake Cherokee neighbors?
