Golfers at
Cherokee Country Golf have we got a deal for you! One of
the things brought up at the annual meeting was having a
membership drive. It was decided that there were a lot of
golfers that were teetering on whether to join CCGA or not. So
to help these people tee up and get off the fence, this is our
deal. Sign up for a years membership and get your first month
free. That’s right free, no up front money,
nothing to pay except the monthly dues, and the first month is
free. The monthly dues pay for all of your green fees, so you
can come on out and play anytime the course is open with no
extra cost. Did I mention that this is a family
membership? That’s right anyone in the family, that lives at
home, is counted as a member. They play on that one membership
also. Another thing that some of the older members enjoy is
that grandchildren under 16 play free when accompanied by their
grandparent. Have I sold you yet? Well, here is the kicker.
The price of membership is only $50.00 a month. Come in
to the Pro Shop and look around. Check with Darin and Seslie
and they will sign you up, right there and then. You will never
get a better deal than that. If you don’t have a cart you can
always rent one from them or walking the course is easy and
healthful. And may I add, it’s a pretty place to go. So get
off that fence and come play golf!

Buzz Everett elected to CCGA Board of Directors along with
re-elected President of the CCGA Board Glen Kernohan.
The Annual CCGA
Board Meeting was held February 10th. At this
meeting the ballots for the election of members to the board
were totaled. Winning seats on the board were familiar names to
the golfing peoples at Cherokee Golf. Glen Kernohan, Buzz
Everett, and Carol Grimes retained their seats on the board.
The meeting was well attended by members of the golfing
community at Cherokee who had several helpful suggestions on
course matters.
Carol Grimes re-elected for two more years
on the CCGA Board of Directors along with
President of the Board Glen Kernohan

Looking forward
to the 3 Club Mixed Scramble to be held on March 19th.
This is always a fun event. Bring 3 clubs with you, which ones
to bring? Well, that’s up to you, what are your favorite
clubs? It’s a judgment call for the golfer, sometimes they
learn a lot that they didn’t realize about themselves and golf
played this way. Lunch will follow in the clubhouse after
play. Sign up in the Pro Shop, if you don’t have a team, you
will be paired up with one. Tee time is 9:00 am and $16.00 is
the price for play, and the lunch is included. See you there.
