Marje Thieman re-elected for 3 year term on CCGA Board of Directors

Ricky West re-elected for 3 year term on CCGA Board of Directors

The Annual Board Meeting of CCGA was moved to a different day because of snow. It’s hard to believe but no one wanted to go to the meeting in the middle of a snowstorm. People just aren't as tough as they used to be in the "old days." The meeting was re-scheduled for Sunday, February 14th, at 3:00 p.m. At that meeting the ballots were counted for the two positions open on the CCGA Board. The persons running for the openings were Marje Thieman, Ricky West, and Bill Adler. After the votes were counted the incumbents Marje Thieman and Ricky West retained their positions on the Board of Directors. The officers of the CCGA Board of Directors were voted in as follows:

President:           Glen Kernohan
Vice President:   Gerald Cochran
Treasurer:            Marje Thieman
Secretary:            Sandy Lyon

Due to all the snow and rain, the course is still drying out.   It is hopeful that the first big scramble of the season will come off as planned. Due to this article having to be in by February 17th and the scramble scheduled for the 27th I will have to let you know next month what happened. If we do have to reschedule it because of weather, the alternate date will be probably be March 13th. Check at the Pro Shop for up to date reports.

The Tatum High School Golf Team is back at CCGA. This is the third year the students have used the course for their official practice field. The coaches and the students have a tough schedule this year and with the weather not helping they are having a hard time getting in their full practice times. We hope things will start to look better for them soon.

The CCGA Club Championship will be held in April this year. The exact date has not been settled on as yet, but this is just to give all members a heads up, so they can start practicing for the big event. There will be three categories: Men's Division, Women's Division and Senior Men's Division. Only members of CCGA will be eligible to enter this event. Come and join us at Cherokee Country Golf, you will enjoy the course and fellowship there.
